NEXT PLAY ATLAS / LEGAL
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 3, 2026
How Next Play Atlas handles information, protects student contact details, and supports your choices.
1. Information We Collect
Students provide information such as first and last name, email, high school, graduation year, city or ZIP code, travel radius, academic interests, activities, and campus preferences. Optional information may include values, personality, goals, college and university size, campus setting, and other details a student chooses to share. If a phone number is provided, it is treated as private contact information. Avoid submitting Social Security numbers, medical records, financial account details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
2. Information From Colleges and universities and Website Visitors
College or University representatives provide their name, work email, institution, role, program offerings, matching criteria, and messages or demo inquiries. Paid access may involve billing and transaction information handled by payment providers. We also process communications sent through the service or support forms. Website and service operation can generate technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, timestamps, and error or security logs.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to create and maintain profiles, identify relevant college or university matches, support in-platform conversations, respond to requests, administer college or university access and billing, and improve the service. We also use information to protect accounts, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, meet legal obligations, and enforce our Terms. Matching helps users explore fit; it does not make admissions decisions or guarantee admission, scholarships, or affordability.
4. How We Share Information
Matched colleges and universities receive the student profile information permitted by the student’s visibility choices and their authorized access level. Student personal email addresses and phone numbers stay private and are not included in college or university profile access. Colleges and universities and students communicate inside Next Play Atlas. If you choose to type contact details into a message or public-facing profile field, its recipients can see what you share. Use care before sharing personal information.
5. Service Providers and Legal Disclosures
We may share necessary information with providers that help operate the service, such as hosting, storage, support, communications, security, and payment services, for those purposes. We may disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, or defend legal rights. Information may be transferred in a merger, acquisition, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law and privacy safeguards. We may use aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual.
6. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No website, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep account credentials private and report suspected misuse promptly. We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes in this Policy, including operating an account, providing support, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of information and the reason it is held.
7. Student and Parent Rights
Students can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their information and ask to change profile visibility or close an account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to receive a copy of your data, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. We may verify identity before acting, and legal exceptions may require us to retain some records. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
8. Minors and Parent or Guardian Requests
Next Play Atlas is intended for high school students aged 13 and older, not children under 13. Students who are minors should involve a parent or guardian and obtain permission where required. A parent or guardian may contact us with a privacy concern or request relating to their child; we may verify identity, guardianship, and authority before responding. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies and similar technologies may be used to support essential website functions, remember preferences, protect the service, and understand site usage. Where required, non-essential technologies are used only with appropriate consent. You can manage cookies through your browser and any cookie controls provided on the website. Blocking essential cookies may affect functionality. This Policy does not itself enable analytics, advertising cookies, or a consent tool.
10. Contact Us About Privacy
For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, parent or guardian concerns, or suspected misuse of personal information, contact Next Play Atlas through our Contact page and use the subject “Privacy Request.” Explain the request and how we can reach you. Do not include passwords, Social Security numbers, or unnecessary sensitive information. We respond in accordance with applicable law.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Policy to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal obligations. We will update the Last Updated date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law. Review this page for the current version.
